What OU Tutor Does

OU Tutor is a Chrome extension that provides an AI-powered study assistant for Open University PDF textbooks. It lets you ask questions about your textbook and receive context-aware answers.

Data We Collect

  • Account information — email address and name, used for authentication and identifying your account.
  • Authentication credentials — managed securely through Supabase Auth (Google Sign-In or email/password). We never store raw passwords.
  • Conversations — the questions you ask and the AI-generated answers, stored so you can revisit past conversations.
  • PDF context — the content and images of the PDF pages you are viewing are sent to generate relevant answers. We do not store full PDF files on our servers.
  • Usage data — token usage counts to manage service limits.
